Two hundred thirty-eight golfers too to two local courses, The Carolina Country Club and The Country Club of Spartanburg, on Friday, May 12 in an effort to feed the frail and home bound in Spartanburg County. The teams are comprised of representatives from national and international companies, most of which are located in the Upstate.
Sponsoring Company Presidents/CEOs and golfers enjoyed a special pre-tournament dinner party on Thursday evening sponsored by BMW Manufacturing Co. with special guest speaker, Harold Chandler, President of Milliken and Company and special guest Ben Wright.
Under the leadership of Stan Parker, 2017 Event Chairman, retired Smith Drug President, Ken Couch, National Team Captain, Roland Fehrmann, International Team Captain, retiree Bill Mayrose, Tournament Director and 22 businessmen who serve on the solicitation committee help to ensure that Mobile Meals will be able to feed the frail and home bound of Spartanburg County. Without their commitment and our sponsors this event would not be successful. This year’s tournament raised $393, 200!

On May 1st, Mobile Meals received over $33,000 in grant monies from ‘Women Giving for Spartanburg.’ Mobile Meals was one of six charities to receive money from the organization, which has award $2.4 million through 78 grants, assisting 59 organizations in Spartanburg County over the past decade.
